FAQs
Here are answers to the questions we hear most from our wonderful families. Use this helpful guide to find everything you need to know.
Can I leave my child at class?
Spinning Gumnuts: One parent or carer must stay and participate with their child.
All other classes: You’re welcome to drop and go, we actually encourage it if your child is comfortable! If your child needs support transitioning, please get in touch before your first class.
Can my child join in at any time?
Your child is welcome to trial a class at any point but we reccomend doing a trial during the first two weeks of our 10-week term. Please contact the Gumnut Dance team to book a trial or enrol online.
Note: Full term fees apply even if you join after the term begins. However, we offer two catch-up classes per term for any missed sessions.
Does Gumnut Dance run end-of-year concerts?
For our youngest dancers (Spinning, Mini and Junior), there’s no formal concert. Instead, families are invited to a special presentation class in the final week of each term.
For students in Pre Intermediate and above, we offer an optional end-of-year showcase at a local theatre. It’s a joyful, low-pressure event that gives dancers the chance to perform on stage, work toward a shared goal, and have fun!
What if my child hasn’t danced before?
No problem at all! We welcome children of all abilities, whether they’re brand new to dance or have experience. Our teachers support each child to enjoy the class and grow at their own pace.
What does my child need for class?
Our Welcome Pack outlines the dress code for each class. Please also bring a clearly labelled water bottle to every session.
Does my child have to wear the uniform for their trial class?
Your child does not need to wear their class uniform for their trial class! Just wear any comfortable clothes that are easy to move in, with either socks or bare feet.
